With our key medical assessment partners, clinical staff carries out a telephone triage with the injured client, and a report is viewable through our online portal detailing injuries sustained and current medical and employment status. The report will detail which of our rehabilitation services, if any, are appropriate and where medical or return to work assistance is recommended.
Our telephone initial medical screening [IMA] system challenges the no-questions-asked approach to whiplash – we believe it is important to ensure people understand that not everyone in a car collision is likely to get whiplash.
The UK's leading insurers, alongside world leading medical experts in whiplash, have developed our triage medical screening service. Using biomechanical evidence our IMA screening clearly separates those with real injuries from those that have mild pain and low whiplash symptoms – which also removes a significant part of the low value but high cost claims.
The diagnosis of whiplash injuries is largely dependant on self-reported symptoms from a potential claimant. This is compounded by factors such as high consumer awareness of whiplash as an injury and associated with making a personal injury claim. This, together with poor medical assessment by current medical suppliers, means it's no wonder whiplash claims form a much higher proportion of personal injury claims in the UK than elsewhere in the Europe
A GP or qualified physiotherapist identifies every claim that as having a potential real injury (or otherwise) with a full medical assessment and injury report.
This provides our clients with total control of the claims process and puts them in a position to confidently recommend legal advice for those claimants identified as having probable whiplash, against those diagnosed with mild symptoms that may only require light touch or indeed no legal assessment.
Providing an instant medical assessment before the instruction of legal representation, ensures that only those claims with clearly identified whiplash symptoms or other serious injury are processed through the current compensation system.
Those cases that are diagnosed with mild symptoms are still provided with first-class early intervention treatment, using a bespoke network of treatment providers that operate under strict SLA's and only provide treatment proportionate to the IMA screening assessment.
We estimate that of the 400,000 RTA claims each year, if screened using our system, over 50% would not have whiplash symptoms and therefore would fall under the £1000 compensation level.
We handle any third party claims, having identified the customer through our 24/7 claims capture service or from data supplied to us from our insurer or broker clients.
Each identified claim is reported either to our first notification of loss team or our case managers and notified to our insurer clients within hours. Each claim will be processed and reported to the insurer once we have established key claim information tailored to suit each client
Our experienced and dedicated client solutions team is focused on ensuring your customer is treated professionally as each client is as important to us as they are to you. Our processes are tailored to suit you and your customers' needs.
